Onderzoek naar BEER

Within the iBe@r project, research was conducted into how BEAR (Blended E-health for children at eArly Risk) can be implemented nationwide, with attention to families in vulnerable circumstances. It is a low-threshold intervention (no need for a diagnosis) for parents of young children (12–36 months) with concerns about socio-communicative development, combining home visits with an app. iBe@r-project werd onderzocht hoe BEER (Blended E-health for children at Early Risk) landelijk kan worden uitgerold, met aandacht voor kwetsbare gezinnen.

The study shows that BEAR is a promising approach, with broad support among parents and professionals. Parents develop a better understanding of their child and see positive changes. One parent says: “I would recommend BEAR to everyone who needs it.” Successful and sustainable large-scale implementation requires investment in promoting awareness of BEAR, funding, training professionals, collaboration between organizations, and inclusive further development. Furthermore, follow-up research is needed into effectiveness, reach, and long-term costs.
